I'm going to be having more time off soon. In fact, by the time you're reading this, I will be having four days off in a couple of days from now. I'll be working 12 hour graveyards, in a 4 on, 4 off, 3 on, 3 off schedule.

So, since I'm going to have a bit more free time on my hands, I'm sincerely going to try and learn how to draw. I would REALLY love to be able to draw my latest story idea, Goddess Shariah.

Anyways, the main reason why I'm posting this is for advice. What do you recommend to a person with practically no drawing experience in terms of books and such? Any tips I should be aware of?

Just to let you know, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to art. Most of the time when you guys comment on the art, it makes no sense to me XD.

I've sent you that one site by Julie Dillon (I think that's her name...) and lots of hobby stores (anime and art shops especially) sell "how to draw" books that you may wanna check out.

Otherwise? Practice a lot, copy stuff you see on TV. Tracing is good until you figure out proportions and stuff. Not much else I can think of. Some people are lucky too and can draw like crazy (a quick scan of DeviantArt makes that pretty obvious)

Why is he letting Lone know? Now he could shout to Sypher and warn him. Idiot.

Start off with tutorials and how-to-draws, but branch off into developing your own style once you're comfortable with doing things. DA has a lot of good tuts and references, and using photographs or pictures of a pose you want can help you get better at that (Listen to me, giving art advice. I need it more than you do! XD). Manga you own can be a lifesaver, because you can carry a volume or two, and use it as a big reference to several poses and facial expressions, as well as body types. I have an old, really small TV that doubles as a DVD player, so when I have an art block I watch anime and pause it every so often to trace a certain pose or fingers or an arm position for practice at getting comfortable.

IN OTHER NEWS:

I bought the new DBZ season one box set. It got color corrected and remastered and stuff, and was only like $30 (Yay for ADV prices! XD Except this was a funimation disc, but you still call it an adv price, right?)... I'm on disc four, watching them straight... I think Vegeta and Nappa have just arrived... Episode 25? Probably a little later than that.
It's been so long since I watched the early episodes... I love that show. I only own a couple discs of Dragonball and only one disc of DBZ, although now I have that box. I want all the others, but for now I'm happy watching old tapes and reading my manga and... -cough- not-so-legal internet powers. :D

Long comment. Wowzers. half tips, half dragonball z. Fetish much?

He's letting Lone know because there's not a damn thing he can do about it. Splitter has lured him into the middle of the city. Sypher and Helen are outside the city. So, I don't think Lone's lungs can carry that far :P.

That, and Splitter is an arrogant asshole.

DBZ has always had a place in my heart, mainly because it was one of the things that got me into anime. For its time, it was one of the best. Many would argue there are a lot better animes nowadays, but at the time, there wasn't. DBZ set a standard, and jump started anime.

Also, I can do Vegeta's voice fairly well. I once did a humourous VA Skit called "Vegeta's Counselling"

It's quite amusing.

Yeah, there's nothing I can really suggest that hasn't been said already.

Just keep working at it and it should become second nature.

No need to call splitter an arrogant asshole! He's like my favorite character... for now. At least until we get to the other members of the Big Bad Four (Otherwise known as the Generals). Even after we see them, I think there's a decent chance Splitter will reign as my favorite.

Also, the Vegeta arc was really the best arc in DBZ. Freaking Frieza's arc is just long and stupid. Cell's arc is sort of okay in parts, but a lot of it is wasted cuz of Hercule (if you don't know, then you will...)

All in all, they get revived too many damn times. Freaking Dragon's Balls, grab them all together and he gets a l'il bit excited and shoots wishes alllllll over. THE BALLS ARE INERT.

I call him that in the nicest way possible <.<.

Heck, you like Raito (I refuse to say Light!) from Death Note, and he is one of the biggest arrogant assholes out there.

Also, we have technically seen two of the four Chaos Generals so far. Kratos is actually the leader of the Chaos Generals.

COOL ALRIGHT! That's like the coolest page ever! *salute*

Do These People Still Think This Works? Seriously, it's like we see the word "Nigeria" and the first thing we think of is e-mail scam.

I just recieved this e-mail. It made me laugh.

"Greetings!

Do accept my apologies if my mail does not meet your personal ethics, I want to introduce myself and this business opportunity to you. My name is Mr Stanly Owel , a bank accountant in Union Bank of Nigeria.

I wish to know if we can work together. I would like you to stand as the next of kin to my deceased client who made some deposits to my bank. He died without any registered next of kin and as such the funds now have an open beneficiary mandate.Fortunately, both of you have the same last name so it will be very easy to make you become his official next of kin.

If you are interested you do let me know so that I can give you comprehensive details on what we are to do. I urgently hope to get your response as soon as possible.
Best regards,

Mr Stanly Owel"

With the tag of "Please Get Back To Me"

Yeah, like I'm that stupid <.<.

My g-mail account doesn't even have my real last name, and I doubt a Nigerian banker has the last name of "Kage"

I always wonder about these kind of barriers, what if you stuck your arm in? Would you be able to get it out or would it be locked in position?
I've come to the conclusion that it's not real and I should get on with my life.
