Like I said, pretty simple answer. Lone takes his broken promise pretty seriously.

So, some new stuff - new header, and like 2+ weeks worth of comics are up (behind the scenes, of course) - hopefully the snazzy new header will actually get some attention when it shows up on the main site... (I know that I choose comics to read based on their headers) - FINALLY our site has a header with art much prettier than in the actual comic! Just like all the other SmackJeeves comics!

seriously though, that's how my drawings usually look T_T It's just that when I do comics, I need to get them to be doing a lot of actions or stuff, which honestly, who practices it unless they're doing a comic?! When left to my own devices, my characters tend to just stand there...

My closeups have been getting nicer (yay header! I love that thing) - I think it's because I started drawing random self-portraits at school of people. Gives you more of an understanding how things are supposed to look

Does anybody use the ranking system? I like how we normally get 5's, but nobody votes hahaha

SO... I was looking back through our archives, and I think I can really see why we have so few fans relative to how many comics we have up... O__O If any of you are new to this webcomic, instead of reading those early chapters (honest to god, nothing happens), just jump back to the comic "Celene Explains" and the comic "One Year Anniversary" (the latter has an explanation of everything that happened up till that point)

It'll save you a lot of time, and spare you a lot of grief...

Wow Sol - I know you like your comic about the Goddesses Shariah or whatever, but how about throwing us a bone and making a comment longer than 1 line long?? XD

Just a thought - instead of the schedule we are at now (midnight Eastern time) is there any chance we can set updates for a time when NOBODY else updates? So our comic actually shows up on the front page of "most recently updated comics" for longer than like 10 seconds?? I wonder how we could figure that out... (I doubt we'd be the top of most subscribers ever, and while we get high ratings, only like 8 people have ever rated this comic...)

HEY You know what works well? Bribery. How about if we get either some 5's, or some more fans, I draw up a l'il Aven artwork for y'all? (AND I promise it won't even count as a page, so the update sched won't be TOTALLY fungled...)

Heh, nice to see you're taking things seriously now. Hmmm, I suppose I could think about having it update at a less common time, but really the only non-common times are really early in the morning when no one's online anyways. But I know what you mean, a lot of the comics I end up finding is through that "most recently updated" front page.

What do you think? What time of the day would you prefer TLS update?

*shrug* I really wouldn't say I'm taking things all that seriously... just on a whim, meh.

My internet crashed, and deleted all my bookmarks, so all of a sudden, I have less sites to surf and a surprising surplus of time (doesn't help that this season's anime is lacking somewhat...)

Did I miss something? =_= LOVE TEH NEW BANNER. XD

Aw, I feel so sorry for Lone now... D:

Relieved of head - I can't believe he'd actually say that. Anyway, she's dead now. Stop moping about it. It's not like Lone cares about people that much when they're alive, and the appearance of a random girl he was desperate to save seemed out of character to me... I guess I don't know him that well.

KK brings up a good point. We really should have more friends around here. I used to rate, but most of the time I don't rate comics anyway (I'm one of those)... and I'm biased for you guys so I rate 5 when I do notice the bar.
Hmm... well, think about it this way: an uncommon time that's early, when no-one else updates, will bring in people who are either up really late (aka university students *cough* ) or those in very different timezones who will probably appreciate a comic that updates on THEIR schedule, because a good deal of the webcomics on SJ do update around the same time. I know I've been online late before, bored out of my mind so I recheck the "Favorites" page every ten minutes...
I'll read the comic as soon as I see it updated, or stop by to chat on comments, so any time is good for me.

Oh, KK, speaking of anime, do you know how to set up Anime onDemand? I've been meaning to check it out and possibly convince the parental units. I'll go google the website now while I'm thinking of it.

Ciao guys! ^D^

I think it's kinda funny how Sypher thinks he's always going to get hurt after he does some thing wrong.

I just checked out the number of comics for this and I just realized. You have over 150 comics and only 30 fans! I don't get it :( . Mabye you guys should do some research on more popular comics(including published comics) and see what they're doing right. Just a thought.

@ Amjam: Helen was the first survivor Lone had actually come across. He had always arrived too late before. He was determined that he would save her. He IS trying to save people, after all. So, when he failed to save anyone, it makes him question if he's really suited to be a hero or not.

re: CPD

That's exactly what I meant, haha. It seems pretty disproportionate. Part of the reason I'd assume is that the art sucksss at the start, and getting people to read all 150 is a pain in the ass, but still... only 30 fans? It's hard to drum up traffic, la~

re: Amjam

No, I don't know how to set up anime on demand... for the most part, they only show crappy dubbed anime that you wouldn't really want to see anyways, since the anime that tends to get popular is long series stuff like BLEACH or NARUTO...

If you get the chance (and the cash) then go buy like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, or Elfen Lied, or (not out yet) Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. They're shorter series, so they tend not to make it to TV in Canada (where I am)

Some good stuff does get onto TV though (cough, Basilisk... FMA... Eureka Seven...) but for the most part, it just isn't done as well. The companies complain about fansubbers, but when the fansubs have higher quality, then I say the companies have an issue. Their translations are worse, their fonts have a tendency to be that fugly yellow that fansubbers avoid, and the quality of the DVDs aren't even as good! (non HD sometimes...) - if we're expected to shell out like 30 bucks for a DVD, it'd better have high quality... these companies are slower than subbers, and do a worse job, so why would we buy it... T_T for the dub? Oh god

Canda got BECK first, one thing I'm truly envious about. The anime is more appealing than the manga to me.

Wow, this is an argument I have all the time, and that I'm not even going to get into now. It's really sickening how so many people can rationalize downloading and bootlegging to the point where they don't even see the damage it's doing to the economy (both American AND Japanese). Hasn't anyone watched Nabeshin's panel yet?
